The Port of Prince Rupert Learning Gateway – your access to curriculum-linked K-12 teaching and learning resources about the Port of Prince Rupert and its role in international trade and transportation.
The Port of Prince Rupert Learning Gateway is the result of collaboration between the Port Authority of Prince Rupert, the SD52 school community, and a team of educational, web design and marine transportation consultants. The interactive site provides lesson plans and educational resources designed to engage students in learning about the Port, its role in Canada’s expanding trade with the countries of the Pacific Rim, and the diverse work and career opportunities that it provides. The educational materials prioritize active learning, are child-centred and designed to be used with educators’ existing units of work.
Recognizing that the Port’s future success relies on the continued interest, understanding and engagement of those who live closest to it, the Prince Rupert Port Authority hopes that the Learning Gateway will anchor a partnership between education communities, the young people of the region and the Port itself.
Enhance and extend the students’ learning experience by visiting the Port’s Interpretive Centre at 215 Cow Bay Road, Prince Rupert, where interactive displays bring the world of trade and marine transportation vividly to life!
